To design infrastructure for the operation of low-emission vehicles and assess the possibilities of their integration into the transport system from 2030 is the aim of the concept, which is being prepared by the Zlín Region in cooperation with PKV and SOLAR GLOBAL.

For example, the county wants to deploy several cars on public transport in the future Hydrogen Propulsion. Assess the pluses and minuses of such a solution and find ways to do it specifically, we at PKV help him. Together with SOLAR GLOBAL and the region, we have therefore signed a declaration of cooperation.

“We want to be an innovator in the field of public transport, to offer the inhabitants of the region comfortable and environmentally friendly transport while at the same time reduce carbon footprint,” said statutory deputy governor Radek Dolež, responsible for transport. “We would therefore like to deploy several hydrogen buses in the future as part of the Integrated Transport of the Zlín Region in order to find out how they work in practice and whether their operation is interesting for us. “ According to Dolehel, liquid hydrogen as a fuel has advantages over electricity — refueling it is faster than recharging and it is easier to build the necessary infrastructure.

It is on the key infrastructure elements that the upcoming project should be focused on. Whether it is hydrogen filling stations, a network of charging stations for public transport or use of renewable energy on the territory of the county. The strategy also includes an analysis of suitable transport routes for the deployment of low-emission vehicles. Firms are expected to provide information during this year on which lines this could be affected, what the consumption costs are or what the subsidy options are. The county wants to take this information into account when awarding a tender for new bus operators for the period 2030-2040.

Thus, the Zlín region thinks ahead and systematically, which was also picked up by the CEO of PKV George Pech. “Efficient energy transformation does not begin with you get photovoltaics or you replace the windows. It starts with knowing where the city or county is going. We are glad that thanks to our know-how, we can now also help with the direction of the region, which has decided to lead by example,” stated.
